Aug. 24

Damien Bartholomew, 32, was arrested following a car stop at the Montville Police sobriety checkpoint. The New London man was charged with sale of a controlled substance, possession of narcotics, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A Norwich woman was arrested following a stop at the Montville Police sobriety checkpoint. Juanita Gibbs, 56, of 49 Lambert St. was charged with driving under the influence.

Phillip Taylor, 19, of 56 Chapel Hill Road, Oakdale and Matthew Bernier, 20, of 95 Depot Road in Uncasville were both arrested following a stop at the Montville Police sobriety checkpoint near Route 163 and Interstate 395. Both men were charged with numerous drug charges including possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with intent to sell. Both were initially held on $10,000 bail each.

James Aberdeen, 42, of 2 McCauley Place, Uncasville was charged with driving under the influence following a stop at the Montville Police sobriety checkpoint.

Todd Pomazon, 56, of 90 Pequot Road, Uncasville was charged with driving under the influence following a stop at the Montville Police sobriety checkpoint.

 

Aug. 26

Gary Newman, 51, of Guildford was stopped in Montville and charged with driving under the influence.

Aug. 27

Police charged two Stonington residents with burglary following “an incident.” Montville Police charged Maryann Sawyer, 44, of 219 Pequotsepos Road, Mystic and Charles Lathrop, 42, of 307 Flanders Road, Stonington with third-degree burglary. Sawyer was also charged with criminal mischief and Lathrop is facing a charge of trespassing.

Aug. 29

Anthony Quinones of Norwich was charged by police with driving under the influence after a early morning car stop on Route 2a.
