Montville Home Rehabilitation Program Closing

The window to submit applications for participation in the program is shortening.

MONTVILLE, CT - The town is seeking qualified residents to participate in a housing rehabilitation program for qualified residents.

Eligible improvements include roofs, furnaces, hot water heaters, windows, doors, septic, electrical, plumbing and ADA modifications, according to a release.

The program, awarded by HUD and Connecticut’s Department of Housing, allows eligible Montville residents to make needed health and safety improvements to their homes through loans at zero percent interest. Loan repayment is deferred until change of title to home.

Applications for participation in the program must be received on or before April 30, 2017. The program requires no out of pocket costs.

To qualify for the loan, property owners must satisfy the following criteria: homeowners must have at least 10 percent equity in their home, be tax current and have an income not exceeding HUD’s income limits for Montville. HUD’s income limit for a single person household is $44,650 and $65,700 for a family of four.
