Montville High School has won the 2011 Apprentice Challenge.
The Apprentice Challenge, Chris Zyrlis writes in a press release, is a marketing competition in which a local business presenting a marketing “challenge” is presented to the participating school.
In this year's event, a local retail shop asked the students to come up with ideas to expand the current geographical market and improve their website.

Students Alex Favret, Tendai Chiwosa, Winnie Chen, Matt Stark, Kellie Smith, Jesse Joseph and Carlie Cave, came together in full force and worked feverishly for four hours to create an incredible campaign, according to a press release.
"The technology we used, ideas we brought, and presentation we gave wowed the judges, to the point that the owner of Seaport Studios, Perry Saunders, called the presentation 'superb,'" Zyrkis writes.

Montville “beat out tough competition from Westerly, NFA, Wheeler and Waterford with an incredible 12-minute presentation,” Zyrlis writes.
“A teacher from Westerly came over to us and commented on how well our students presented. “
Not one of the Montville High School participants is a senior, according to the press release, and the majority of students on the other teams were seniors.
“I cannot be any prouder of their performance,” Zyrlis writes. “Each student dressed professionally, acted mature and respectful, and demonstrated that students from Montville know how to get the job done!”
