UPDATE: Repaving Route 85 Project Under Way; Expect Significant Delays And Backed-up Traffic

As if it isn’t going to be hot enough, it will be plenty steamy along Route 85 and drivers can expect to be sitting in traffic between Deer Run and Dinosaur Place as the state continues milling and road re-surfacing.

Reports this morning indicate with just one lane of alternating traffic, there's plenty of back up, so motorists should expect delays. Or, just avoid Rt. 85 if possible. 

The state Department of Transportation said it would be milling and resurfacing from Turner Road in Montville to Salem Country Gardens near the Shady Brook picnic area.

The project, which began Monday, will continue through July 2 every weekday from 8 a.m. to around 4:30 p.m.
