Resident State Trooper Asks for Transfer
Troy Gelinas has been at the Montville Police Department since September
Resident State Trooper Troy Gelinas has put in a request to be transferred out of the Montville Police Department.
Gelinas has been on the job since the end of September.
He said Wednesday that "a lot of thought" went into his decision to request a transfer.

"For personal and professional reasons, this was the best way to go," he said.
Before becoming resident state trooper, Gelinas was a sergeant with Connecticut State Police at the Troop E barrack. He said he has asked to go back on patrol.

There is no timeline for his transfer, he said. He has no idea who will replace him. He said he will have no say in the matter.
He said he has "mixed emotions" about leaving the Montville Police Department.
