Restaurant To Open 1st CT Location At Mohegan Sun
A restaurant with several locations in New York is planning to open at Mohegan Sun next year.
MONTVILLE, CT — The Shed, a restaurant with several New York locations, plans to open in the former Mohegan Sun food court space in spring 2024.
The restaurant will be in an 8,100-square-foot space next to BALLO Italian Restaurant and across from Frank Pepe's at Casino of the Earth.
The Shed will feature a scratch kitchen and be open seven days a week brunch, lunch, and dinner, according to a statement.

The restaurant was established in 2017 and has four locations in New York: Huntington, West Sayville, Plainview, and Westbury.
BALLO and The Shed are both creations of restaurateur John Tunney, III.

“We are very excited to welcome The Shed to our excellent lineup of dining offerings at Mohegan Sun,” Jeff Hamilton, president and general manager of Mohegan Sun, said in a statement. “Our friends at BALLO Italian Restaurant are known for delivering fresh, authentic, Italian cuisine, plus amazing service and an incredible atmosphere, so we look forward to expanding on this partnership and experiencing their delicious take on American comfort food.”
The restaurant will feature dishes like Skillet Mac & Cheese topped with corn, jalapeños, bacon and green onion, and Glazed Salmon paired with Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, & shallots, topped with a sweet mustard glaze.
Mohegan Sun's food court closed recently. The four restaurants in the food court that closed were Mezze Mediterranean, Jasper White’s Summer Shack Express, Southside, and The Original SoupMan, according to Hearst Media.
The Uncasville casino currently lists 38 dining options with brand-name options like Chik-Fil-A, Jersey Mike's Subs, Krispy Kreme, and Ben & Jerry's.
The 20th Annual Mohegan Sun Food and Wine Fest is coming up Jan. 24 to 28. The casino describes it as a "vibrant and immersive experience where wine enthusiasts come together to explore and discover a world of flavors" with more than 20 events to commemorate the anniversary.
