Suspect In Westfarms Mall Child Sex Assault Arrested At Mohegan Sun

Numerous calls identified Windsor resident as man who exposed himself to young girls at Westfarms Sunday.

Connecticut State Police and Mohegan Sun Police arrested a Windsor man Tuesday at the Mohegan Sun Casino in connection with the June 10 sexual assault of a 6-year-old girl at the Westfarms Mall.

Alan Stuart Hickey, 50, of Windsor, was charged by Farmington police with risk of injury to a minor, sexual assault 3rd degree, and public indecency and taken into custody Tuesday around 7 p.m.  at the casino. He is being held on $200,000 court-set bond and is being arraigned today at Hartford Superior Court.

Police, with the help of numerous calls from the public, identified Hickey as the man on video surveillance that allegedly exposed his penis to a young girl and forced her to touch it in the Go Calendar store on Sunday. Police believe there may have been other victims.

Police learned of Hickey’s last known address and began surveillance while obtaining search and arrest warrants. Police also began tracking Hickey electronically and learned he was at the Mohegan Sun Casino.

According to police, a friend told Hickey he was wanted by police, so then he cut his hair and shaved his facial hair in an apparent attempt to conceal his identity.
