Tesla Opens Showroom At Mohegan Sun
The electric vehicle maker has opened its second location in the state, a sales and delivery center at Mohegan Sun.

MONTVILLE, CT — The Tesla electric vehicle showroom has opened its Mohegan Sun location. This marks the second location in the state for Tesla; the first is located in Milford.
The following appeared on Mohegan Sun's website: "Tesla’s retail location provides an exciting opportunity to experience all of Tesla’s products, including taking a demonstration drive in a Model 3, Y, S or X. Tesla’s mission is to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy via affordable electric vehicles and solar and energy storage systems."
The new Tesla sales and delivery center, which was announced this past summer, is located in The Shops at Mohegan Sun, across from Todd English’s Tuscany, with deliveries taking place nearby at Sky Tower valet. Test drives for popular Tesla models will also be possible. The casino resort also has five Tesla charging stations.

Mohegan Sun isn't the only casino where Tesla has plans. The electric vehicle manufacturer also plans to open a location near Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Oneida, NY in 2025.
Adding a Tesla location in the state has been controversial. Locating the showroom on Native American tribal land allows the electric vehicle maker to get around a Connecticut law banning automakers from selling directly to customers, Hearst Media reported.
The company first tried to get the state to change its laws in 2015 but faced opposition from car dealerships. Then in 2017, Tesla sued the state for closing its Greenwich showroom, according to Hearst Media. That lawsuit was withdrawn in 2020.
