Video Viewfinder: Tantaquidgeon Indian Museum

The museum houses priceless art and artifacts of the Mohegan Tribe, and items from other tribes, as well

The Tantaquidgeon Indian Museum, at 1819 Norwich New London Turnpike, was founded in 1931 by John, Harold and Gladys Tantaquidgeon. It is owned and operated still by members of the Tantaquidgeon family, and showcases art and artifacts of the Mohegan Tribe and other Native American tribes, as well.

The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesdays through Saturdays, from April through October. Admission is free, and donations are accepted.

The museum is closed on holidays, and closed from noon to 1 p.m. Groups may tour by appointment. Call 860-848-0594.
