2 CT Residents Arrested In Waterbury Cockfighting Bust: Report
A total of eight people are facing charges after police learned of a cockfighting event in March, according to a report.
WATERBURY, CT — Two Connecticut residents were among eight people arrested on allegations related to a cockfighting ring, according to WTNH News-8.
Jaime Martinez, 79, of Wallingford, and 37-year-old Jelin Mejia-Dejesus, of Waterbury, were both charged with conspiracy at animal cruelty, interfering with a search warrant, and conspiracy at gambling, WTNH News-8 reported.
Six others from Massachusetts were also arrested. Police had received information that a crowd gathered for the cockfighting event in March.
