2 People Brandishing Guns in Naugatuck Tried to Gain Entry Into a Building: Police
Police say the accuseds fled after being confronted by neighbors and were arrested by officers. BREAKING
NAUGATUCK, CT — Two men seen holding guns near the intersection of Hoadley and Rubber streets were taken into custody after individuals confronted them causing flee the area, police said.
On Tuesday at 5 p.m. Naugatuck Police received a report of an unknown confrontation occurring between multiple persons near the intersection of Hoadley and Rubber streets involving at least two persons seen holding guns, police said.
Responding officers located several subjects near the residence of 16 Hoadley Street who advised that two unknown males attempted to gain entry into the residence brandishing handguns, police said.

Several occupants of the home advised officers that they confronted the individuals whom they stated were not known to them and a brief altercation had occurred outside the residence, police said.
The two suspects then fled in a dark colored vehicle parked near the residence, police said. No weapons were discharged during the incident and one was seriously injured during the incident, police said.

Naugatuck Detectives processed the scene and made two arrests on Wednesday in connection to the incident;
Joshua Petro, 18, of Park Ave, Oakville and Jauquille Cooper, 22, of Highland Avenue in Waterbury, police said.
Based on information obtained during the investigation, Detectives are confident this was not a random act and that there is no danger to the general public, police said.
