WCSU to host second virtual event in 2023 Regional Lake Communities Symposium series

DANBURY, Connecticut β In continuation of the series that began in 2019, the Western Connecticut State University Department of Biology, in collaboration with the Connecticut Federation of Lakes and Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, will host the second of two virtual 2023 Regional Lake Communities Symposia, βManaging Water Quality in Lakes,β at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 4. The event will feature presentations by four experts, followed by a discussion with online participants. Larry Marsicano, Brawley Consulting Group LLC and WCSU Limnology Instructor, will be joined by William Henley, Senior Aquatic Resource Scientist, South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority, who will discuss βRemote Turbidity Monitoring & Selective Diversion for Improvement of a Drinking Water Lake.β Also speaking will be Connie Trolle, President of the Bantam Lake Protective Association; and Peter Francis, Boating Division Director, Bureau of Outdoor Recreation, Connecticut DEEP, for βA Conversation about Wakeboards and Shoreline Management.β A question-and-answer session will follow, along with a Symposium Summary and discussion about βWhere do we go from here?β
