• Naugatuck Farm Receives $25,000 Grant From WBDC (patch.com) — Sunset Farm in Naugatuck has been awarded a $25,000 Accelerate Grant from the Women’s Business Development Council, recognizing owner Kaitlyn Kimball’s plans to grow the women-owned business. The award was one of three given statewide during WBDC’s Women-Owned Business Day in Hartford, highlighting the economic impact and visibility of women entrepreneurs across Connecticut.    

• Garage, 2 Cars Destroyed By Fire In Naugatuck: FD (patch.com) — Naugatuck firefighters had a hectic weekend, battling six brush and grass fires plus an open burn, including one blaze that destroyed a four-car garage and two vehicles. Officials say discarded cigarettes likely sparked several of the fires and are warning residents that burning brush, leaves, grass or trash is prohibited due to the risk of quickly spreading flames.
