Students will return to the classroom in Naugatuck on Wednesday, Aug. 26.

Here is a list of dates to know for this school year, according to the 2026-2027 district calendar:
Naugatuck Public Schools
- Aug. 24: Convocation.
- Aug. 24-25: Professional development; no school for students.
- Aug. 26: First day of school.
- Sept. 7: Labor Day; no school.
- Sept. 8: Middle school open house; early dismissal for grades 7-8 only.
- Sept. 15: Elementary school open house; early dismissal for grades K-4 only.
- Sept. 17: Intermediate school open house; early dismissal for grades 5-6 only.
- Sept. 22: High school and ECE open house; early dismissal for pre-K and grades 9-12 only.
- Sept. 23: Professional development; early dismissal.
- Oct. 12: No school.
- Oct. 14-16: Parent conferences; early dismissal for pre-K-12.
- Nov. 3: Professional development; no school for students.
- Nov. 11: Veterans Day; no school.
- Nov. 25: Early dismissal.
- Nov. 26-27: Thanksgiving break; no school.
- Dec. 23: Early dismissal.
