Arrest Made In Stop And Shop Robbery Case: Naugatuck Police
Police said a man accused of robbing a Stop and Shop store in Naugatuck was arrested less than 24 hours after the incident occurred.

NAUGATUCK, CT β A man accused of robbing a Stop and Shop store in Naugatuck was arrested less than 24 hours after the incident occurred, according to police.
In a news release, police said Michael Timothy Alldredge, 43, was arrested hours after the robbery took place Wednesday afternoon at a People's United Bank inside the Rubber Avenue grocery store.
Alldredge was charged with second-degree robbery and held on a $750,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear in court Friday morning.

According to police, the bank was robbed after a man handed someone at the bank a note demanding money. Police noted no weapons were used during the incident.

"We commend the hard investigative work of our officers and detectives who worked around the clock to ensure the capture of this individual," police said in a news release. "While some may not understand what goes on behind the scenes of an investigation such as this, in a very short time span detectives sifted through numerous witness statements, collaborated with other agencies, followed up on tips and gathered various forms of intelligence information which resulted in the swift capture of this individual."
Police also thanked the community for their cooperation in this investigation and noted officers are "proud to protect and serve the borough of Naugatuck."
