UPDATE: Shoppers Headed Back Inside the Brass Mill Center After Bomb Threat

The bomb threat was called in at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Waterbury based mall draws people from all over the region.

Update 4 p.m. The evacuation is over and people were being let back inside Waterbury’s Brass Mill Center after the mall was evacuated for 90 minutes Wednesday afternoon after a bomb threat was reported, NBC Connecticut reports.

Update 3 p.m. The State Police Bomb Squad is on the scene. Numerous shoppers are standing outside of the store waiting to be let back in. At least it’s sunny and 70 today.

Update 2:20 p.m. The mall has been closed and numerous police officers are on the scene, the Republican-American reports.

Original post 2 p.m. The Brass Mill Center located at 495 Union Street in Waterbury is being evacuated because of a bomb threat, NBC Connecticut reports.

According to its website, Brass Mill Center offers shopping, dining and entertainment for the Greater Waterbury Region. Anchor stores include Sears, Burlington Coat Factory, JC Penny and Macy’s. There is also a movie theater.
