These cute little sparrows are all over Naugatuck, it seems to me their numbers are increasing. They are very small wren like birds with a wide beak similar to a finch. I have seen them almost triple in the amount in one yard alone. For some strange reason I am also finding dead little ones all over the yard. Fresh, right out of the egg, no pin feathers, bald little things. I am not sure if they are tossing them out, if they are falling out, if another bird is tossing them out, but I will find out. It's causing a bit of a mess, with the flies and these large beetles eating them. I will try to get a picture of the beetles. They hide under the corpse when I walk up to it. The nests seem to be in the eaves of the roof..more on this mystery later.
