Elderly Woman Stabbed To Death In Waterbury; Son Charged: Police
A city man has been arrested and charged with his mother's murder, according to police.

WATERBURY, CT — A city man has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of his 80-year-old mother on Thursday.
Police Sgt. Joseph Morais on Friday said Noel Sepulveda, 48, of Waterbury, has been charged with murder, possession of narcotics and use of drug paraphernalia.
Police identified the victim as Anacelia Sepulveda, 80, of Waterbury.

Police on Friday confirmed the accused is the victim’s son.
According to Morais, police were dispatched Thursday at 12:42 p.m. to an apartment at 25 Abbott Terrace. It initially came in as a request for medical assistance.

When officers arrived, they found a man on the floor who appeared to be under the influence of narcotics, later identified as Noel Sepulveda, police said.
Officers then found Anacelia Sepulveda lying in her bed in the same apartment. She was unresponsive and suffering multiple stab wounds, and she was later pronounced deceased, according to police.
Noel Sepulveda was given medical attention at an area hospital, and he was later transported to the Waterbury Detective Bureau for questioning.
After his arrest, he was held on a $2.5 million bond, and he was presented at Superior Court in Waterbury Friday morning.
