Grand Opening of the Bom Bay Cafe This Weekend

Naugatuck, CT - The staff at the new Bom Bay Cafe will celebrate their grand opening during the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. The cafe is located at 413 North Main Street in the Union City section of Naugatuck, right next door to the Edible Dreams Custom Cake location on the corner of North Main and Union Street.

On Monday morning, the World War II - themed cafe will be serving free coffee to all of our Vets before the Naugatuck Memorial parade. The new cafe will be open from 2:00-10:00 on Sunday and 8:00am -2:00pm on Monday.

The interior of the large space is decorated with WWII memorabilia that is sure to interest the veterans who head to the borough to check it out.

Naugatuck's newest coffee shop will offer coffee from Black Rifle Coffee Company, a very patriotic company that is owned by veterans, as well as typical regular and decaf coffee. "We will be one of only three locations in the state that sells the Black Rifle coffee," said the cafe owner Ed Hughes. There are tea options for those of us that don't drink coffee and there is a bench just outside where patrons can enjoy their coffee in good weather.

Breakfast sandwiches will be served and dessert treats from Edible Dreams next door will be available all day. The signature "bommers," a mini unfrosted cupcake often with a wonderful filling, will be for sale in a variety of flavors. My recommendation: try the classic cinnamon sugar and the new lemon and raspberry versions. Big Dipper ice cream will also be available, so bommer lovers like me can pair them with a scoop of ice cream for a delicious treat that can turn any day into a birthday party.
