Griffin Hospital Offers Health Talks in Naugatuck
The first talk is scheduled for Thursday at the new health and wellness center at 131 Bridge Street.

Griffin Hospital invites residents of Naugatuck and the surrounding communities to come to its new Naugatuck Comprehensive Health & Wellness Center at 131 Bridge Street in Naugatuck for a series of free “Healthy U” educational talks throughout March.
On Thurs., March 5 at 6:30 p.m. Urologist Brian Sperling, DO, will present “Staying Healthy Below the Belt,” a discussion on common disorders such as stress and urge incontinence and how Griffin’s Center for Pelvic Health can help.
On Wed., March 11 at 6:30 p.m., Gastroenterologist Harold Schwartz, MD, will present “Colonoscopy - Just Do It,” a discussion on the importance of colonoscopy screening for all adults 50 and over and some of the misconceptions about this life-saving screening procedure.

On Thurs., March 12 at 6:30 p.m., Surgeons from Valley Orthopaedic Specialists will present “Joint Health and Orthopedic Surgery Options,” a discussion on overall joint health and new options for joint surgery to relieve pain and restore activity.
On Mon., March 23 at 5:30 p.m., Bariatric Surgeon Rishi Ramlogan, MD, will present “New Year, New You,” a discussion about how weight loss surgery can help improve your health and your life.

On Wed., March 25 at 6:30 p.m., Thoracic/Vascular Surgeon Richard P. Salzano, MD, Pulmonary Specialist K. Marya Chaisson, MD, and Smoking Cessation Coach Carrie O’Malley, RN, will present “Lung Cancer – Know your Risks,” a discussion about the dangers of smoking, lung cancer screenings for high-risk individuals, and free smoking cessation options offered by the hospital.
