A Hammer and a Punch Leads to Naugatuck Man's Arrest: Police

Naugatuck police say the incident occurred on Washington Street.

Naugatuck police say officers responded to an assault at 20 Washington Street on May 30.

Kyle Vaituzis, 25, of Washington Street, is accused of approaching the victim, who was known to Vaituzis, and allegedly damaged his vehicle with a hammer, police said.

During an argument, Vaituzis allegedly punched the victim as well, police said.

Vaituzis is charged with third-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief, breach of peace, and caring a dangerous weapon. He was initially ordered held in lieu of $75,000.
