Man, 27, Killed In Route 8 Accident: State Police

The accident occurred just before midnight on Route 8 in Waterbury. The deceased was thrown from his vehicle, State Police said.

WATERBURY, CT — A Prospect man, 27, was killed in a two-vehicle accident that occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Route 8 near Exit 34, according to Troop A in Southbury. State Police said Moya A. O'Leary, 23, of New Jersey was traveling southbound on Route 8 in Waterbury in the center lane.

Christopher Jeannin, 27, of Matthew Street in Prospect was traveling southbound on Route 8 on a motorcycle while also in the center lane, State Police said. Jeannin's motorcycle struck O'Leary's vehicle from behind and her vehicle came to a controlled final rest in the left lane, State Police said.

Jeannin was thrown from the motorcycle and he was taken to St. Mary's Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, State Police said. O'Leary was taken to Waterbury Hospital for evaluation of a possible injury, State Police said.
