Man Points Gun At Patron During Argument At Bar: Naugatuck Police
Police said a man accused of pointing a stolen handgun at another person during an argument at a Naugatuck bar was recently arrested.

NAUGATUCK, CT — A man accused of pointing a stolen handgun at another person during an argument at a Naugatuck bar was arrested late Thursday night, according to police.
In a news release, police said officers were called to Sullivan's Cafe on Church Street around 11 p.m. after receiving reports of a man threatening patrons with a handgun.
According to police, witnesses said Richard Molyneux, 42, of Naugatuck, and another patron got into a verbal argument, during which Molyneux exited the bar, pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the other patron.

Officers detained Molyneux, who was found to be carrying an empty holster and a loaded magazine but no firearm, police said.
Officers extensively searched the surrounding area and were able to find the handgun. After further investigation, they also discovered Molyneux had taken the gun without the owner's knowledge, police said.

Molyneux was arrested on charges of theft of a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree threatening, interfering with a police officer, second-degree breach of peace, carrying a firearm under the influence of intoxicating liquor and carrying a pistol or revolver without a permit.
Molyneux was held on a $150,000 bond and arraigned in court Friday, according to police.
