Maple Hill Elementary PTO Hosts "Sweetheart Dance" [PHOTOS]

Maple Hill students brought their adult sweethearts to a dance held at the elementary school on Friday evening.

Naugatuck, CT - The Maple Hill Elementary School PTO hosted a Sweetheart Dance on Friday evening in the school's gym and cafeteria. Approximately 200 Maple Hill very well-dressed families attended the event.

Mary Nunes, a para-educator at Maple Hill and the president of the Maple Hill PTO, said that the PTO decided to call the event a "Sweetheart Dance" instead of a Father Daughter Dance so that students could attend with any adult that they loved. This was the second year that the PTO has held the event and the red-white-and-pink themed event was a huge success.

Throughout the evening, the PTO sold carnations, bracelets and raffle tickets, and sweet treats were sold at a bake sale. The DJ, a parent of a third grade student, provided the music for dancing.
