More Details Emerge in Case of Man Charged With Threatening Naugatuck Police Officer

The man is accused of referencing the 1991 murder of a Connecticut State Trooper.

More details are coming out about the arrest of Robert Wagner, 64, who is accused of leaving several threatening messages for a Naugatuck police officer.

Police say Wagner was upset over the Police Department’s investigation into a tablet that was stolen from him, reports NBC Connecticut.

Wagner allegedly told the officer “he would end up like Officer Bagshaw.”

State Trooper Russell Bagshaw was murdered in 1991 while responding to a burglary report of a gun shop in North Windham.

Wagner allegedly repeatedly the threat to another Naugatuck police officer, and then called the police officer and left a threatening voice mail for him, NBC Connecticut reports.

Wagner was charged with threatening and second-degree harassment for intimidation.

Wagner was held on a $25,000 bond.
