Naugatuck Fire Department Adds Three New Recruits

A first year firefighter earns a salary of $50,361.

A whopping 540 candidates applied to become the newest members of the Naugatuck Fire Department, reports Paul Singley of the Waterbury Republican-American.

Newly hired firefighters include T.J. Hawks, and three new recruits, David Prouix, of Middlebury, Shane Henion, of Beacon Falls, and Nate Peragallo, of Prosect.

Recently, retired Naugatuck firefighters include Jim Trzaski, Bob Ragauskas, and Jim Roberts.

On the Naugatuck Fire Department Facebook page they posted this message: “Congratulations to Dave Proulx, Shane Henion, and Nate Peragallo on their appointments last night as probationary members of the Naugatuck Fire Department.

They worked hard over several years to get here and we are looking forward to having them as members of the NFD. All three are going to attend the CT Fire Academy Recruit Program, Class #54, for 15 weeks starting August 25th.”
