After Naugatuck Emergency Medical Services arrived at the home and further assessed the woman, they determined immediate transport to a medical facility would not be sufficient due to how far along in labor she was, according to police.
A Naugatuck EMS captain assumed the role of primary care as EMS crews and officers prepared an area for safe delivery, police said.
