Naugatuck High Roof Needs To Be Replaced After Solar Panels Fail
The project will likely cost around $5 million, officials say.
NAUGATUCK, CT — This is definitely not good news. Solar panels at Naugatuck High School have failed and the school's roof will have to be replaced, My Citizen's News reports.
The roof is only nine-years-old. The roof and solar panel project, which was completed in 2009 cost $5.9 million and the state paid for all but $1.2 million.
Replacing the roof now will cost $5 million and it's unclear whether the state or insurance money will be available to Naugatuck, officials told My Citizen's News. The roof will be replaced this summer.
