Naugatuck Hiker ID'd Who Died At New Hampshire's Mt. Washington

The 66-year-old was hiking with his three sons along Jewell Trail when he collapsed.

NAUGATUCK, CT — The 66-year-old Naugatuck man who died over the weekend while hiking on Mount Washington in New Hampshire, has been identified, reported the Republican-American.

Timothy McClelland was hiking with his three sons along the Jewell Trail on Saturday when he collapsed at about 12:15 p.m. in Thompson & Meserve's Purchase, a township in the Mount Washington area. The four were more than 2 miles up from the Base Station parking lot.

His sons performed resuscitation efforts until rescuers could arrive, and a Blackhawk helicopter from the Army National Guard unit in Concord, NH, was used to airlift McClelland from the trail.
