Naugatuck Man Yelled at Cops, Ran From Them Then Taken Into Custody: Police

Police said they were called to Church Street at 2 a.m. recently for a disturbance call that escalated.

NAUGATUCK, CT — A local man is accused of running from police officers after he was told to exit his vehicle and he ended up with an assault charge, police said.

Police said officers responded at 2 a.m. to Church Street for a disturbance. Branden L. Fonseca, 23, of Graham Ridge was in the passenger seat of a vehicle parked in a commuter lot, police said.

He allegedly yelled obscenities at a male in the parking lot, police said. Fonseca was told by police to stop yelling and he refused, police said. He then yelled at cops and when told to exit the vehicle he ran from police, police said.

He was found and taken into custody on Rubber Avenue, police said.

Fonseca is charged with breach of peace, interfering with a police officer and assault on a public safety employee.

He was given a $10,000 bond.
