Naugatuck Police Arrest 2 in Cumberland Farms Armed Robbery

The two suspects live in Waterbury.

On 10/9/14 the Naugatuck Police Department made two arrests regarding the armed robbery that occurred earlier at approximately 1:50 AM on 10/9/14 at the Cumberland Farms Store located on North Main Street, Naugatuck.

The accused subjects displayed a shot gun and demanded money from the clerk. The on duty clerk handed over cash that was in the cash register and both subjects fled on foot. No one was injured in the incident.

Both subjects were identified through the investigation as Thomas Lewis (Age 29 of Waterbury) and Monte Moore (Age 18 of Waterbury). The accused subjects were booked and held on a $250,000.00 bond and are scheduled appear in Waterbury Superior Court on October 10th, 2014.

On October 9 at approximately 2 a.m., Naugatuck police responded to the Cumberland Farms Store, located at 527 North Main Street on a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred, police said.

An employee stated that two males entered the store wearing hoodies and masks, pointed a shot gun at him and demanded cash from the stores cash register, police said.

The employee advised that he handed over cash from the register and that the males fled the store on foot headed south towards Woodbine Street, police said.

No further information regarding this incident is available at this time. Police said they will release additional information as it becomes available.
