Naugatuck Police Department Reflects on the 9-11 Terrorist Attacks
Several Naugatuck police officers went to New York to assist in the rescue efforts and they took dozens of compelling photos.

On this date fourteen years ago, 9/11/01 several officers of the Naugatuck PD made a decision to drop everything they were doing and head to NYC to assist in the rescue efforts. Then NPD Chief Ned Clisham gave the officer the go ahead to assist and these officers did just that...
These officers had no idea what they were headed into and had no idea what to expect as they piled into cruisers and headed towards Manhattan. As the officers neared NYC they were directed to New Jersey to a staging area that was set up for what would become the “jump off point” for all the agencies from around the country that traveled to NYC for the same purpose of helping their brother and sisters of the NYPD, NYFD and NYC Transit departments in attempting to rescue and recover victims of the twin towers collapse...
