Giovanna was last seen at her home on Rubber Avenue at about 9 p.m. She had a disagreement with her mother and left the residence at about 9 p.m. Her family advised that she has never run away in the past and that it is not in her personality to be out late.

Giovanna contacted a family member after 9 p.m. through social media stating that she was okay and staying with an unknown friend outside of Naugatuck, however the family and police have been unable to verify that information and confirm she is safe.
