Naugatuck Police Seek 2 Percent Increase: Report
The Police Department is hoping to have six new recruits begin this summer which will help lower overtime costs.
NAUGATUCK, CT — Naugatuck Police are seeking a $7.18 million budget for fiscal 2020-21, which represents a 2 percent increase or an additional $150,677, My Citizen's News reports.
The increase is largely attributable to salary increases. The Police Department is hoping to add six new recruits which should help alleviate the department's reliance of overtime to cover vacancies.
The Police Department has already spent more than $400,000 in overtime costs this fiscal year and that is due to several vacancies, My Citizen's News reports.
