Naugatuck Police: 'Suspicious Person' Turned Out to be an Assault Victim
Police say the victim was able to run to a house and ask for help in the middle of the night.

On early Tuesday morning at 12:28 a.m. a Spring Street resident was greeted at the door by a woman banging on her front door, police said.
Police responded to a suspicious person complaint.
During the investigation, it was determined the suspicious person was actually a victim of a domestic disturbance with her roommate, police said.

During an argument, Hasan Baaith, 37, of Spencer Street, is accused of hitting the victim and allegedly took her phone when she attempted to call 911, police said.
The accused restrained the victim and held her on the floor, police said. Baaith was found in his vehicle a short time later.

He was found to be in possession of a black pellet handgun, police said. Baaith was held on a $50,000 bond and charged with weapons in his motor vehicle, third-degree assault, disorderly conduct, interfering with an emergency call, and first-degree unlawful restraint.
