Throughout 2019, a group of talented and enthusiastic members of the Senior Center have gathered to plan and organize this special November community occasion. The helping hands of the wonderful Holiday Bazaar volunteers had been very busy, and the public was invited to reap the benefits of their creativity and hard work.

At this year's bazaar, there were Ruth Kuzmech's jams, preserves, cucumber relishes, tomato sauces, and pickled beets. There were also a wide variety of kitchen and home goods like hand-stitched aprons and tea towels. May Tardy brought handmade autumn and Christmas wreaths, floral arrangements and decorative table centerpieces.

Many attendees took a chance with Doris Lacourse and Joyce Luzio at the famous Tea Cup Auction, where a variety of gift baskets and gift certificate baskets, as well as Scratch Ticket Framed Auction Items would go to the lucky winners. The drawing was held on Saturday afternoon.

Dorothy Gouveia, Bernice Niro, Ellen Manke, Betty McCabe, Josephine Fazzino and Carol Butler were on hand with their knitted scarves and winter hats. There was also a large bakery booth, with some 300 mini apple pies baked by Ralph Diers. Laura Marsala had baked SouthMayd Cranberry and Orange Cookies, while Dolly Lengyl had made her famous Honey Dipped Baklava and Italian Biscotti Cookies.

Darlene Striffler, Kathy Richards, Carlos Nieves and Julia Laliberte welcomed everyone to The Grandma's Attic, one of the favorite stops at the annual bazaar. Shoppers searched and discovered some true treasures among the tables filled with antique milk glass, pewter candlesticks, classic books, clock and pocket watches.

On Saturday, Manny Luzio was in the Senior Center's kitchen preparing Kielbasa sausages and sauerdraut sandwiches and Harvey Leon Frydman was cooking up his annual batch of chili. Mr. Frydman prepared a wonderful hot baked Idaho potato topped with plenty of butter for me, which I enjoyed with a lovely group a senior and those that love them at a table in a separate room. Carole Mancini helped with adding sour cream or chives to the hot potatoes, and helpfully provided extra napkins.
