Police K9 Finds Handgun After Argument In Naugatuck, 2 Charged: PD
Police said a Naugatuck resident is accused of taking an Ansonia resident's handgun during an argument and threatening them with it.
NAUGATUCK, CT — A police K9 was able to locate a handgun hidden inside an apartment after an argument Monday in Naugatuck, according to the Naugatuck Police Department.
In a news release, police said officers were called to the area of Perock Lane after receiving a report of a disturbance.
According to police, officers learned Kevin James Jennings, 30, of Ansonia, was involved in an argument with Cyndie Paduani, 29, of Naugatuck, during which Paduani is accused of taking possession of Jennings' firearm and threatening him with it.

Jennings left the area before officers arrived, police said.
Officers established communication with Paduani, who exited a home in the area without incident and was arrested, according to police.

Officers were initially unable to locate the firearm and requested assistance from the Waterbury Police Department's firearm detection canine, police said.
After conducting a search of an apartment with his handler, K9 Bane, a patrol K9 cross-trained in firearm detection in order to locate firearms and their components, successfully found a loaded Glock 43X 9mm handgun hidden inside the residence, according to police.
As a result of the investigation, Jennings was charged with risk of injury to a minor and second-degree reckless endangerment.
Jennings was held on a $10,000 bond and appeared in court Tuesday, according to police.
Paduani was charged with first-degree threatening with a firearm, risk of injury to a minor, first-degree reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.
