Preview of 'Cinderella' at Waterbury Arts Magnet School

WAMS is getting really excited for Cinderella.

This production has really grown into something special for our students and the Waterbury community. Our set is anchored by a stunning castle staircase that was generously donated by Westport Country Playhouse, and we are incorporating two live horses and carriage experience coordinated by Allyn Miller—the same provider used in last year's Cinderella featuring Misty Copeland.

In addition, the Theatre Production class is designing and building many of the set elements themselves, giving students hands-on experience in technical theatre, while nearly 90 students are involved in the production. The show also features live music with student musicians and guest artists, along with pre-show entertainment in the lobby, raffles and other opportunities to engage the community (including Girl Scout Night on Friday)

It’s truly become a collaborative effort that brings together multiple programs, student leaders, and local partnerships, and we love the opportunity to highlight their work.
