Raising Cane's Planning New Restaurant At Waterbury Mall

A representative for the popular chicken finger chain confirmed the company is aiming to open a new location soon in Waterbury.

WATERBURY, CT — Raising Cane's, a popular fast food chicken chain that has been rapidly expanding across the Northeast, has confirmed plans are in motion to open a new location at the Brass Mill Center mall in Waterbury next year.

A Raising Cane's representative confirmed Wednesday in an email to Patch the company planned to open a new location in Waterbury but noted they were "still in the midst of the permitting and approval phase at this time."

According to the representative, the company is currently aiming to open the new Union Street location in early 2027.

"Pending city approval and permitting, Raising Cane's is aiming to bring our 'ONE LOVE Craveable Chicken Finger Meals' to Waterbury...at 335 Union Street early 2027," a Raising Cane's representative said in a statement sent to Patch.

If approved, the new Raising Cane's would open in the former location of a TGI Fridays restaurant, which closed in October 2024.

Raising Cane's specializes in "hand batter premium chicken that's marinated for 24 hours," according to its website.

The restaurant only serves its famous chicken fingers, as well as sides like crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw and Texas toast.

Raising Cane's recently opened a new restaurant location in Milford back in October. Another new location opened a few weeks later in Manchester.

In addition to Milford and Manchester, the company also operates Connecticut restaurants in Enfield, Simsbury and Wethersfield.
