The Rotary Club of Naugatuck Announces Scholarship Winners

The Rotary Club of Naugatuck is proud to give scholarships to outstanding seniors graduating from Naugatuck High School.

NAUGATUCK, CT - The Rotary Club of Naugatuck is proud to give scholarships to outstanding seniors graduating from Naugatuck High School.

Gabrielle Cantoni (pictured above,) a 2020 graduate of Naugatuck High School, has been awarded a Rotary Club Scholarship. Promising to make to make a meaningful contribution to this world, her many accomplishments to indicate her sincerity. Superior academics and selection to the Honor Society are incidental to her achievements as a member of the Science Olympiad Team and her interests in astronomy and philosophy. She was on the varsity tennis team, a member of Youth Leaders, Philosophy and Debate Clubs and a freshman peer mentor and tutor.

Rotary wishes Gabrielle success in her pursuits in computer science and engineering at UConn.

Ryan Maquire (pictured above,) recipient of the 2020 Rotary Foundation Scholarship will be attending UConn to study Mechanical Engineering. His academic achievements recognized in his time at City Hill Middle School with the Josephine Maher Award, continued at Naugatuck High School where he was elected a member of the Honor Society as a junior. A participant in the Student Council, DECA, and Student Leaders, Ryan was also a writer for the student newspaper. Selected as a Rotary Student of the Month, all Rotarians join his family and friends wishing him continued success.

Charles Marenghi

Charles Marenghi is the recipient of the 2020 Grele Rotary Foundation Scholarship as recognition for his achievements in music. His aptitude as musician contributes to his student achievements as scholar and athlete. A member of the National Honor Society he was also cited as an NVL Scholar Athlete in track and cross country.

Charley has been accepted into the music programs at both UConn and Western Connecticut and will pursue his future in music education. Rotary wishes Charles success in his pursuits in music education.
