Running from Naugatuck Police and Lunging at an Officer's Head Leads to Charges: Police

Naugatuck police say the local resident was uncooperative during their initial motor vehicle investigation and things escalated.

Naugatuck police say at 8:03 p.m. on Nov. 7 officers were conducting a motor vehicle investigation on North Church Street near Mandy Carta’s house.

Police say Carta, 47, of North Church Street, was uncooperative and yelled at officers during their investigation.

She ran from officers to her house where she was stopped outside, police said.

While officers were speaking with Carta she allegedly lunged at one of the officers and grabbed onto the officer’s head, police said.

She was released after posting $5,000 bond and is due to appear in Superior Court, Waterbury on Nov. 18.

Carta is charged with breach of peace and assault on a public safety personnel.
