More than $3,000 has been raised by residents and the total cost for the surgery is just under $5,000.

NAUGATUCK, CT — Great news for Lucky, as the dog that came to Naugatuck Animal Control severely abused last week, had successful life-saving surgery on Wednesday.

"Due to her popularity, we have been getting many phone calls for her adoption. Please do not call. We have set up a dedicated website specifically for her adoption and it will go live in the next week or two. So stay tuned," Naugatuck Animal Control said. "We can not thank everyone enough for your kindness."
