Someone Is Pretending To Be Naugatuck Police Officers
Naugatuck Police say scammers are definitely taking their deception to a new low and are urging residents to be vigilant.

They say “imitation is the most sincere form of flattery”... well we are FLATTERED! There are some persons out there pretending to be us!
The most recent telephone scam actually will show a call from “203-729-5222” (our number!) and the individuals will identify themselves and NPD officers. These “officers” will then tell you that there are various crimes against your SSN, and request you wire them money to alleviate the said charges.

Please! NPD would NEVER ever solicit money from our residents or scare them into thinking they have charges such as money laundering, drug trafficking or other heinous crimes...
We (the REAL) Naugatuck Police are urging our citizens to be mindful of this scam and use caution... if it sounds suspicious... do not continue the conversation and do NOT provide any personal information.
