'Splash and Bubbles: Rhythm of the Reef' Wins Family Choice Award

Fans can sing along with Splash, Bubbles and all the Reeftown friends on this award winning soundtrack.

“Splash and Bubbles: Rhythm of the Reef, ” the first season soundtrack of the best music of PBS Kid's Splash and Bubbles is a Winner of a 2018 Family Choice Award.

The Family Choice Awards recognize the best in children's and parenting products. Now in its 22nd year, the Family Choice Awards is one of the most coveted, family friendly consumer award programs in the nation.

A yellow fusilier fish named Splash and his friend Bubbles, a Mandarin dragonet, explore life under the sea with their pals in "Splash and Bubbles," the newest series from PBS Kids. Co-produced by The Jim Henson Co., the animated series is designed to teach children aged 4-7 about marine life and the ocean and help them build social-emotional skills. The series features the voices of John Tartaglia, Leslie Carrara-Rudolph, Raymond Carr and Aymee Garcia.

John Tartaglia, the creator of the series, posted that he is "so honored" by the award. Mr. Tartaglia provides the voice of Splash. Leslie Carrara-Rudolph provides the voice of Bubbles and Aymee Garcia is the voice of Ripple the seahorse.

John Tartaglia might best be known as executive producer, creator and and star of the 8 time EMMY nominated "Johnny and the Sprites," receiving a nomination for "Outstanding Performance in a Children's Series." (My cousin Tim Lagasse played the role of Basil on this magical series and I met Mr. Tartaglia at my cousin's wedding.)

John Tartaglia earned a TONY Award nomination for his Broadway debut in the Tony Award-winning musical, Avenue Q, for which he originated the roles of Princeton and Rod. Other roles on Broadway include starring as Lumiere in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, and most recently, in the role of Pinocchio in Shrek The Musical.

A 12-year veteran of "Sesame Street," Mr. Tartaglia is one of the youngest puppeteers ever to perform on the show, starting at the age of 16. In addition to his work on "Sesame Street," he also starred in Sesame Workshop's innovative English as a Foreign Language project, "Sesame English," which currently airs worldwide.

Mr. Tartaglia has also appeared on "Ugly Betty", "Hollywood Squares," Disney Channel's "Bear in the Big Blue House" and "JoJo's Circus" and Discovery Channel's "Animal Jam." He has developed several new live shows including directing "The Musical Worlds of Jim Henson" at Carnegie Hall in April 2012. He is a past host of the New York Philharmonic Young People's Concerts. John's production company, Gables Grove Productions (co-founded with Michael Shawn Lewis) is dedicated to creating new, immersive and multi-media family entertainment. He is also the host of a radio show on Sirius XM On Broadway called 'Sunday Funday with John Tartaglia.'
