Your digestive system has a big job to do — processing and converting food into nutrients for your body’s energy, growth and cell repair and then getting rid of what’s not needed.
In this informative program, Dr. Ronald Zlotoff, a specialist in gastroenterology and Dr. Alexander Palesty, a specialist in robotic and laparoscopic surgery, will guide you through the inner workings of your hard-working digestive system, as well as explain the risk factors, causes and treatments of common digestive disorders and diseases faced by women and how you can keep your digestive system running smoothly. To top off our evening, Carol Byer-Alcorace, Manager and Executive Chef of New Morning’s Provender Cafe, along with nutritionist Alison Birks, will enlighten us about the sometimes-confusing world of healthy foods. Let’s explore the wonderful ways that foods like quinoa, amaranth and kale can liven up our plates and please our palates. Delicious samples will be provided!
Admission is free, but pre-registration is required.
All participants will receive a complimentary lunch kit for healthy eating on the go!
