AUDITIONS FOR THE WEDDING SINGER
February 3 – 4, 2026

TORRINGTON, CT – Stage @ The Warner is excited to announce open auditions for THE WEDDING SINGER, a hilarious musical comedy that will rock the Warner '80s style! Auditions will be held at the Warner Theatre (99 City Hall Ave, Torrington): Tuesday, February 3 from 6-9pm and Wednesday, February 4 from 6-9pm. Callbacks (by invitation) will be Thursday, February 5 from 6-9pm. Performers 16 years of age or older of all races and ethnicities, identities, and abilities are encouraged to attend.

Based on the iconic film of the same name, this Tony Award®-nominated show is packed with music, dancing, and the decade of excess. Meet New Jersey’s favorite wedding singer/rock-star wannabe, Robbie Hart. He’s the life of the party, until his fiancée leaves him heartbroken at the altar. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection with her innocent charm. Robbie falls hard, only to learn that Julia is about to be married to a narcissistic Wall Street shark. Can he pull off the performance of a decade and win her heart, or will Julia be lost to him forever?

"THE WEDDING SINGER is equal parts parody, rom-com, and ensemble-driven spectacle—a big-hearted musical that proves true love is worth fighting for, making it a crowd-pleaser for audiences who love big laughs and bigger hair," says Travis Kendrick-Castanho, Director & Choreographer. “We are seeking joyful, fun-loving actors who embrace big, bold choices and can lean into the silliness and comedy of this 80's world."

Performers should prepare a one-minute song (in the style of the show or one of two songs provided), a monologue (short selections provided), and wear clothing they can dance in. No prior dance experience is required. Rehearsals will take place weekly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6-9:30pm until Tech and performances. There will be one Saturday rehearsal from 12-6pm on April 4. The first rehearsal will be Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Performances run April 17-26 in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre.
