Tour the First Home of the Simply Smiles Children's Village

What a productive few weeks on the Reservation for the Simply Smiles team!

They installed the kitchen cabinets, island, and stove in the kitchen and common area, painted all the rooms, completed the bathrooms, and installed crown moulding and trim throughout the house.

A special thanks to Simply Smiles Board Members Peter Bayers and David Nurnberger and volunteer Gary Nurnberger for their hard work. (David and Gary are pictured above with Simply Smiles President and Founder Bryan Nurnberger in the kitchen of the new home!)

Walk through the nearly completed first home of the Children's Village!

Big developments on the clinical side of the Children's Village initiative, too! The team's recent two-week trip to the Reservation included:

• Meeting with our DSS collaborators to finalize details regarding accepting our first children at the Children’s Village.
• Meeting with our team of elders and community advisors.
• Connecting in person with Native foster parent candidates!
• Filming a commercial with Keloland, a South Dakota local news company, which will help us to spread the word about our Native foster parent opportunities!
• An interview with South Dakota Public Broadcasting to share more about our first-of-its-kind Children’s Village model!
