Two Clubs in Waterbury Closed; Cops Seize 200 Bottles of Beer

Police say the clubs were open well past closing time.

Two clubs in Waterbury have been shut down by police for allegedly serving alcohol after closing time, News 8 reports.

Police said at 3 a.m. Sunday, police went to Ochie Negril on Willow Street, and the bar was still in full swing, as the bartender served alcohol even though the business didn’t have a liquor permit, News 8 reports.

The bartender was arrested. Police also added insult to injury as the seized all of the bar’s booze including 135 bottles of beer.

Then police noted Club Struga on Wolcott Street was still open at 4 a.m. and the bartender was still pouring booze, News 8 reports. The business did not have a valid liquor permit.

Again police seized 60 bottles of beer, and 18 bottles of liquor, and the bartender was arrested.
