Victim In CT Fatal Restaurant Shooting Identified: Reports

The victim allegedly shot by a Waterbury restaurant owner has been identified, according to reports.

WATERBURY, CT —A victim who police say was shot and killed by a Waterbury restaurant owner has been identified, according to WTNH News-8. The man killed in the shooting was Sebastian Olavarria, 28, of Waterbury.

Police responded to a call at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday and found the victim lying on the ground on East Main Street. Olavarria was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries, according to WTNH News-8.

The shooting occurred outside Mikey's Jamaican Restaurant, and police arrested the owner, 61-year-old Michael Anderson. Anderson is charged with murder, first-degree reckless endangerment, and unlawful discharge of a firearm, according to CT Insider.

Police say a fight broke out between Anderson and the victim outside the restaurant before Anderson pulled out a gun and shot him, according to NBC Connecticut.

Anderson was held on $2 million bail, according to CT Insider.
