VIDEO: Watch Naugatuck Police Pull Someone Over for Distracted Driving

In the educational video, police explain the state's distracted driving laws, and you see them in action.

As you’re well aware by now the Naugatuck Police Department is participating in a national program where officers are conducting a major crackdown on distracted driving for the entire month of April.

To illustrate that point, Naugatuck Police Lt. Bryan Cammarata made a video where he talks about what constitutes distracted driving, and in the video you’ll see police pull over a driver and question them on camera about what they were doing.

The point of the piece is to educate the driver. That happens at the 5 minute mark of the video.

The woman explains that she was simply turning her iPod off, and Cammarata quips that her punishment is buying police officers doughnuts for two weeks.

In the video, Cammarata explains that cell phones, tablets, IPods, games, and all other electronic devices can’t be used while driving. A citation could run you $150 for your first offense.
